If you live, work or play in the San Luis Obispo area, you’ve probably had a connection with J.Carroll, whether you know it or not. We have been serving great garments to the Central Coast community for over 15 years. We have produced tens of thousands of special event and logo’d garments for businesses, community organizations, sports teams, college clubs, fraternities and sororities, and church groups. You may even have worn yours without knowing it was by us!

I invite you to look around and see what separates us from the competition. Better yet, call or stop by to see how we can help you with your next project.

Rock Chalk Jamie Fraser

J.Carroll has always been a fan of Big XII schools... especially Kansas, so we are pumped to see a Southern California girl heading off to Lawrence, Kansas for college.
Jamie's sister, Jackie, ordered these shirts to mark the occasion.
I love this photo!

Tom Mott arrived with the students from the 1Dream Foundation for a lasagna lunch and some good times learning how shirts are made.
We showed them how shirts were printed on the Automatic Press, and then each person was able print the back of the shirt on our manual press.
Check out the photo, and keep in mind that the smallest guy in the photo is pushing 6' tall (our designer Travis Harrison is 6'6, and he was dwarfed by a few of these guys) .

How is this for a compliment?

"Thank you so much! I hope you know how much we appreciate you! You do not just create shirts - you make impressions, memories, and smiles beyond incredible. Thank you!"

Don't call it a comeback, they've been here for years!

The headband is a mark of true sophistication and style :)
Sometimes you need a unique item to get your point across. Why not try something like this?
I'm not saying that you should buy 144 of these things, but you might try adding 5 or 6 to your next order and see what kind of reaction you get when you give them out to the customers who want to make a statement for you.

3D Embroidery now available

Puff 3D embroidery uses a foam underlining to achieve an extreme three dimensional effect. The foam comes in different widths and colors to accommodate an array of products and thread colors.

Puff 3D embroidery works best with block or large round shaped letters. Artwork for puff embroidery should have rounded corners so that the needle perforates the corners of the design and covers the foam completely and makes your design come alive.

Thick materials that will be washed periodically generally work best with this application, such as hats, bags, and thicker jackets. To really make your business name or logo stand out, use our puff 3D embroidery.

Marketing idea that can save you MONEY!

Does your company buy from vendors that have coop money available? A great way to subsidize the cost of getting shirts made is to put the logo of your vendor on your company shirts. We have seen vendors pay half to all of the cost of shirts for local companies to outfit their staff.

Cuesta Equipment would sew the logo for Louisville Ladder, Makita, or Weather Guard on the sleeves of their shirts. Idler's Appliances sews Maytag, Whirlpool, Kitchen Aid, or Dacor on the sleeves of their shirts, and McCarthy's Irish Pub has printed the Jameson logo onto shirts for events.

It can't hurt to ask, and it may save you some money.

Print Run

Check out the guys printing shirts for Tennis Warehouse this afternoon. Paul and Jesse had the machine running about half speed because of a special metallic ink being used.
After printing, these shirts were folded, heat sealed in a polybag, and then labeled with a UPC sticker.

Rawley's "Can't go wrong with this one" Pick...

When it comes to a solidly-wearable polo shirt, "you can't go wrong with the Chestnut Hill Ch100. It washes great, keeps its color, and most importantly, the collar does not curl up. I've got three or four in my closet that I wear consistently, and I cannot tell which one I have had the longest."

It has a matching ladies style (CH100w) and they both come in in over 25 colors.

Past employee wants to keep teaching...

Former "Employee of the Decade" (1990's), Greg Schuknecht, says that he won't come out of screen printing retirement to try to claim his second straight 10 year award.

"Every now and then, my wrists feel like they can print another couple thousand shirts. I know that I can make up for lost time, and make a strong run at the award during 2009"

Once the backbone of the press room, Greg left J.Carroll to obtain his Master's degree at the University of Georgia. He is now teaching at F.C. Hammond Middle School in Alexandria, VA. Always a role model, he rides his bicycle to work each day to promote a healthier lifestyle.

"I believe that children are our future. Teach them well, and let them lead the way."

Some things never change.
